Savannah - Southern Charm

My Garden Dream In Dungeness Ruin

I always fantasize that one day we will find a place that has a ruin. I can create a beautiful garden in and around it. When I see Dungeness ruin, I can not think of anything better than that. It is so sad to see the ruin is fenced off. It would be the dream world if I would be allowed to create my dream garden in and around it. The garden would connect our imprint from yesterday to today.

Life Passes By But The Place Still Stands

At the north tip of the island, it stands a tiny church which is the first black baptist church in US. It was built in 1893. One event made this unknown humble building fame when John F Kennedy Jr. got married. One picture was on all the media outlets when the couple stepped out of this 12 seat church. It is still sad to think this day that these beautiful people just vanished so young. It reminds us of cherishing when we have it.

Human Imprint Today

Into Cumberland Island

It was 4 years ago when I was introduced to Cumberland and tasted a few slices of this natural beauty. Since, its constant texture - palmetto, live oak and Spanish moss and wild horses brings a lot of imagination what it was long long time ago. I always wonder what a incredible natural arrangement is having palmetto green carpet and magnificent live oak with hanging Spanish Moss stands out above. One day hope that I can see this natural works by flying above the island. Beyonds, it is human imprint makes it more intriguing place to just walk between trails and the main road.

New Found From Little Sammy Then

Sammy had crafted some beautiful objects for his mom. Here is a wonderful basket made by Sammy when he was 10. I just have to show it.

Christmas In Atlanta

We left Athens the Sunday right before Christmas. we planned to stay in Atlanta for a week to see relatives and friends. Time is just never enough. We stayed most with Sammy's mom and BC. We took over the bedroom of Sammy's mom. She insisted and told that she would not sleep in her bed anyway. The bed was very comfy. It surely gives Sammy a chance to bitch about our bed. We made a few things. Especially ham by Pat and caramelized apply pie with Raisin by Sammy with my little but crucial help. I sliced apply very thin. I am not a big fan of pies in general. But this is just yummi..e! Wonderful textual and Caramel is one of my favorites. Pat, can I have your testimonial with my favorite picture of you for this trip?

Well the ham was long gone before I was going to take a picture. While we stayed in Atlanta, we were restricted once a while in Summer time for garden water usage. Now it has one of the worst drought. We have to wet body quick, turn off the water, soap and risen quick during showering.

We went to BC's sister's lake house for the Christmas. The house is nicely built and has a great appealing. Also witness the desperate water situation in Atlanta. The city's water reservoir Lake Lanier is close to dry up. It is not caused just by the climate cycle. That city sprawls in all directions without any constraints nor good conservation programs. I can not help but mention that climate cycle is becoming the buzzword for Republican to deny global warming.
